Googly-Eyed

I put aside the chenille sweater I've been working on (yeah, another WIP to add to my growing collection) because I need to get cracking on Halloween doilies. Plus, I'm having major doily withdrawal! I've been working with black size 10 thread and I'm getting googly-eyed. Black crochet thread is so hard to see and I can see good close up! I just have to wear glasses to see at a distance. I need to take the desk lamp out of the office and set it on the table beside my crocheting chair while working with the black thread.

when working with dark/black thread, try putting a light/white coloured bit of fabric underneath (on your lap). And vice versa with the light/white coloured thread.
it works for me! HTH!

Thanks for the helpful hint!

Ana Luisa is right, I put a white pillowcase in my lap when I work with black (or any dark color.) The contrast really does help!

I'm going to try it Ann and Ana.
