Slacker

I just haven't been in the mood to crochet much lately. Probably because everyone I know has everything they need due to me making them each a million things! I have been working on a few new things. Not doilies - shock! lol

Not Enough Hours

Not enough hours in the day to re-hab my rental house, crochet and catch up with everyone. I did manage to make two doilies and a baby blanket while I've been working on my house for 6 1/2 weeks. I want to go home and see DH and my dog!

Ravens For Halloween

I call this Ravens For Halloween because it looks like ravens circling a full moon on Halloween. It is a pattern by Delsie Rhoades called Doves In Flight. It is up for auction on eBay tonight. It is 24 inches across and my resident blocker did a good job wouldn't you say? lol

It's A Big One

I finally finished the Halloween doily I was working on. My husband is going to block it today so pictures will be forthcoming. It's going to be pretty good sized. The Flowers For Fall doily sold yesterday albeit for not as much money as it is worth. But, it drums up business for my eBay store.

Tomorrow morning we are going to a church rummage sale. Hope to find some goodies to resell in the store. We always get there before it opens so we can be first in line to snatch up pattern books, thread, yarn and kits. My husband is 6'2" so he can see over all the ladies heads and he points me in the direction of the craft tables.

I just can't decide whether to make another Halloween item or start on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Honor's Layette

This is the baby layette I crocheted for my sister's grandbaby.

It Is What It Is

DH is now using the pink camo pillow because that's the one I finished making. lol Rounding the bend on the baby layette.

On another note: We picked 13.5 pounds blueberries yesterday. Looks as though I'd better get crackin' and make some blueberry muffins. Hope they turn out as good as last years.

Babies!

Finally a new baby in the family and one on the way. I'm crocheting a layette for my sister's granddaughter. Her DIL is having a baby in September so I'll make something for her, too.

Another day, Another WIP

I have 4 projects going right now. My husband wanted me to make a pillow for when he's watching TV. I got one side finished and he didn't like the color (pink camo) lol So, I started a blue one and have one side finished. I'm also working on designing a doily and making another doily. I switch around when I get tired of one.

Pillow Covers

I'm making pillow covers for a round pillow and a square pillow. Takes as long as making an afghan!

Frog, Frog, Frog

I have been working on a doily design all morning. I can see it perfectly in my mind's eye but getting it stitched up is another thing. lol

Wrack, Wrack, Wrack

Wracking my brain - it needs a jolt now and then - to come up with a design. I have seen so many patterns in my 35 years of crocheting I'm afraid I'll accidentally use someone else's pattern. I've had this one idea for years but haven't worked out how to make it into a sizeable doily.

I'm up way too early - 3am - and forgot to bring my crocheting into the office. Rats! Guess I can grab it when I get my Ginger up at 6.

Looking For A Pattern

Does anyone have this pattern? It supposedly came from an issue of Anna Burda Crochet Fall 2000. I have looked everywhere. I would greatly appreciate it!

Ocean Waves Doily

This is the doily I finished while in Ohio. DH blocked it and took the pictures today. It's 16" diameter and is for sale in my eBay store. I wish I could find a better background for my pictures. I need to find a wooden table that isn't shiny so he can stage the pictures and make them more attractive.

Back From Vacation

I just got back from Ohio. My oldest granddaughter graduated high school and the next day we had a family reunion. I crocheted a doily while I was away and am trying to get my famous doily blocker to get busy! lol I am working on another doily that looks like antique roses and leaves. For some reason the thread I ordered on May 29 hasn't arrived yet so I'm doing projects that can be finished rather quickly because the new thread is for a centerpiece and will take awhile to make. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Tropical Bruges Lace Doily

It's white and the lavender/aqua hand-dyed thread is from craftylady1951 on eBay. It's 23 1/2 inches. That last Bruges lace row took HOURS! It's also for sale in my eBay store Tadrick Crafts.

Memorial Day

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day. I salute those who have and do defend us and keep us free. My dearest Daddy was in the Air Force.

WIP Done!

I finally finished a WIP that I started a year ago. It's called The Pineapple Doily and is from a 1955 pattern. It's 25" across and the colors are coral and ecru. Of course, my resident blocker DH did all the blocking and picture taking. It's for sale in my eBay store.

Never Enough

One can never have enough doily thread and yarn. I keep on hand every color imaginable but saw a doily I wanted to make and there was one color that I didn't have. I ordered it at HH Tatting along with some of their new variegated colors and of course, I had to make a quick stop over to Herrschners and get a few of their new colors! lol

Home Again, Home Again...

We finally got back to Michigan for the summer a few days ago. I shipped my Ott light to myself and it just came today so now I can dig in and get my crocheting started again.

My dog Ginger was happy to be back. She has a big, grassy fenced-in yard and a big deck she can wander out on. When we got home she was zinging around her yard and then flew in the house and raced up and down the long hallway until she was out of breath and slurped down nearly her whole dish of water! She is so funny.

Too Busy

Hi, I'm still here people! I haven't posted anything in over a month. We have been so busy I haven't had the chance. I'm still working on a table topper. It is slow going because my husband wants me to go places every day now that the weather has steadily been in the 80's.

We'll be back in our summer home April 29 and it will still be cool weather there so hopefully I can finish my projects!

Burning Question

How can a pattern call for size 30 thread and a size 10 hook and say the finished size will be 38 1/2" diameter and I use size 10 thread and a size 6 hook and the table topper turns out to be around 20" diameter? I find this happens with a lot of patterns.

Too Soon!

I thought I'd be smart and make a few Easter doilies ahead of time but time is running out on me. Easter is April 4 this year! I have made exactly 2 doilies - spring fever procrastination. lol Bought a lot of new thread for all my Easter projects. Well, I did have good intentions! haha

No Dice

The Valentine doily didn't get any watchers. Only 27 page views and didn't sell. I guess I'm losing my touch because I haven't sold a doily in months!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

I call this Frilly Valentine. I changed my mind about putting buttons on it because the doily is 17" x 17" and the buttons weren't big enough to be noticeable. This will be up for auction on eBay tonight.

Waiting On Trinkets

I bought some pretty Valentine buttons off eBay I'm going to incorporate in some doilies. I can't wait until I get them!
