Slump

I haven't been on here since October due to a crocheting slump.  I finally finished a doily I was working on.

The eBay market is glutted with Christmas doilies so I started on Valentine's Day doilies to get a head start.  This is my latest doily:

Said And Done

I finished this doily a few days ago and Robert blocked it and took pictures.  It is a pattern from MC and was originally called "Veranda" but I did a few tweaks so I renamed it "White Christmas."  Not very original.  lol

Decisions, Decisions

I can't seem to settle on what doily I want to make for Christmas.  I want to make something other than the usual poinsettias, snowmen, Santa, etc.  I better make up my mind because time is running out!  Yesterday, I bought some patterns from Delsie Rhoades and a Christmas doily was among them.  After I received them I realized the doily was almost totally beaded.  I guess I hould have read the fine print.  I can do beads but I don't have any of the colors.

What A Find

This is the 1967 afghan kit we found today.

Vintage Find

DH and I went to St. Vincent DePaul and found an afghan kit with all the yarn, instructions and daisy loom.  Everything is in it's original box.  It is a Bucilla by Bernhard Ulmann and is from 1967!  We'll put it in our eBay store and start the auction tonight.

Yarn And Bobbles

I bought some Bernat Christmas glitter yarn and some beads today at Walmart.  I was lucky to find anything because they never keep their shelves stocked.  I had to go to an art supply store to get brass rings for suncatchers and a towel ring I plan to make.  I'll probably start tonight.  I love new yarn and bobbles!

No Brag Just Facts

Can you believe it?  I can't.  The auction on my Halloween doily ended a few minutes ago.  Eight watchers and no bids!  I started it out at $9.99 so now it's going in my eBay store for $24.99 and it can rot in there for all I care.

Almost Labor Day

Where did the year go?

My Halloween doily is gaining watchers on eBay.  I hope it sells for a decent price.  99% of the time I do not make a doily I've already made before but Robert and I were looking at some of my pictures and there is a doily that I got a decent price for and he suggested I make it in Christmas colors so That's what I'm working on now.

Last One For The Season

I finally finished this after a few frogging sessions.  Seems I make mistakes when I crochet while watching TV.  This is the last doily I'll be making for the Autumn/Halloween season.  I've already started on Christmas doilies.  I'm going to skip Thanksgiving.  I love my doily blocker!

Three new doilies from me and my blocker.  :-)

Babies, Babies Everywhere

Blanket I made for my niece.  She is having her first baby.  DH had to fold the bottom up in order to get it all in the picture and to be able to see the braiding and cable details.

Autumn In The Wings

I recently finished making this Autumn Moon Doily.  It is a pattern from a book Autumn Doilies by Elizabeth Ann White and can be purchased at bellacrochet.com  I think I'll wait awhile to put it in my eBay store since this is still June.

Still Hasn't Sold!

My husband is a pro when it comes to blocking.  This one is called "Coral Rose."  It is 19" diameter.  It has been in my eBay store for 2 months and no takers!

Nearing The Finish Line

I haven't posted on here lately because I haven't been doing much.  I did finish this layette for my cousin's daughter:

I'm nearing the finish line on a vintage doily called "Brocade".  Only a few more rows and then I can play with my two new pattern books.

Mad

I finished making a doily and realized I made a huge mistake that couldn't be fixed so I cut up the doily and threw it in the trash.  DH just shook his head.  lol  I can't believe I made such a huge mistake since I constantly check my work as I go along.

Stash!

Robert and I went to a garage sale and bought the ultimate needlepoint stash.  I don't do embroidery or needlepoint or crewel but I can sell all this in my eBay store for big bucks.  It took me nearly 10 hours to sort it out and we still have to do another sort to determine how many items to put in each ad.  There is also vintage hand-painted canvases - you name it this woman had it.

Quail

Robert has been putting sunflower seeds on the front patio and the Gambell's Quail think they are in heaven because they've never eaten sunflower seeds before. They come ten at a time and stand outside our bedroom window in the morning and evening making a certain noise so he'll go out and sprinkle some more on the patio. I told him they're going to be as big as pheasants!

Screwy Blog

I don't know why everything I post is in italics.  I make sure the I isn't chosen but it still does.  Italics are harder to read.  If this posts in italics it wasn't me!

Too Many Holidays

I think there is a limited audience for holiday doilies selling on eBay so I made something that is not holiday themed.
