Good Morning

Good morning, afternoon and evening wherever you may be.

Please don't let me run out of the red thread I'm using for a new doily.  I found a ball of vintage Star thread in red in my stash.  It says 175 yards and it didn't seem as though I would need that much for a doily in the making but maybe not.  Fingers crossed!

This is the newest one.  It is Sunny Side from MC issue 100.  I did a few stitches differently and made the edging different to match the white edging on the inner spokes.  Originally, the outside edge was picots.  I'm tired of picots!

Pineapples

I normally do not make pineapple doilies because I don't care for them because there are too many patterns for pineapples out there.  But, this pattern was a little unusual and besides that I had some new Lizbeth size 20 thread that was perfect for this doily.  It sort of creates an optical illusion.

So far, January hasn't been too bad weather-wise.  I hope February isn't a deep freeze.

MY FIL has been in the hospital since September and they are moving him to a nursing home that is actually connected to the hospital building.  He needs to be weaned off the oxygen that is going through his neck where he had a tracheotomy before he can come home.

I'm nearly finished with another doily.  It is something to do before I decide what patterns I'm going to use with a few different hand-dyed balls of thread I recently purchased.

Five More Weeks

There is 5 more weeks until Valentine's Day so I figure I better jump on the bandwagon and make a heart doily to sell in my eBay store.  Only one other person has this one listed so far and hers is white and she wants $79.99  I am asking only $29.99 even though it is worth more because of all the hours I put into it.

It has been so cold and snowy here there isn't much to do so I sit and crochet all day.  I try to keep the carpets vacuumed and the floors mopped but my husband stomps into the house without wiping his feet.  I need to train him better!

I have a Chihuahua and she entertains herself watching the squirrels sneak into the bird feeder.  We keep them out during the summer but let them have access to the bird feeder during the winter so they can eat all the sunflower seeds they want.

Crochet - along

We did a CAL in a group I belong to on Face Book.  We could use any hook and any colors.  This is my result:
