...And Another

My husband blocked this for me yesterday.  I keep cranking them out even though they hardly ever sell in my eBay store.  The designated shelf in my office is stacking up!  :-)

Since my 91-year-old father-in-law has been in critical condition in the hospital since September we didn't do anything for Christmas.  No decorations or tree.  I did receive quite a few cards but didn't send any out this year.

The ice on our lake groans and pops all day and night and when I let my Chihuahua Ginger out to potty she hears it and acts as if there is an intruder in the yard.

My latest: Tailspin Doily. 17" Diameter. Color: Aunt Lydia's Frosty Green. Pattern by Delsie Rhoades.

Adventure From The Frog Pond

I was crocheting on a doily last night and had to frog two rows back.  Then, I put the 2 rows back on and made another mistake and had to frog the last row again.  Argh!  I think my head was in another world last night.

I had to order a new dog bed for Ginger today. The one she had was so old. Plus, she puked all over it last night and I can't take the cover off and wash it anymore for fear all the stuffing will come out of the pillow when I take the cover off. We only buy her Hidden Valley Sherpa Nuzzle Nests because she is a chihuahua and chihuahuas love to sleep in beds that envelope them. When she lays on the couch she tunnels completely beneath her quilt. Spoiled!

Doilyholic

I can't stop!  lol

I have another one in the works.  It is confusing reading the chart because it is French but I'm slogging through it because it is one I've always wanted to make.

On another note:

Our lake is freezing over and it is popping and groaning.  It sounds so eerie at night.

Never Too Late

I want to sell this in my eBay store.  I wonder if it is too late to sell something for Christmas?  Maybe it could be used any time of the year.   I normally do not make anything with roses because I hate making them but these roses were different than most to make.

A lady gave me some Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn - color Winery - so I made the infinity scarf which I will never wear but liked the camel crochet stitches and the softness and sheen of the yarn.

Busy, Busy

This is what I have been up to this past month.

Start Early

Bear with me on my posts.  BlogSpot won't let me remove the italics for some buggy reason.

Anyway, I thought September would be early enough to start Christmas doilies, centerpieces and table runners.  NOT!  Every place I have scoured - online and stores - are sold out of pine green and scarlet size 3 fashion thread.  HH Tatting has the colors in Lizbeth thread but by the time I buy 4 balls of thread plus shipping I would be paying $30 for it.  That's more than I get for selling one in my eBay store.  Next year I should start in June and stock up.

It's turning chilly here in Michigan.  I can't wait to go to our Arizona house for the winter.  It's warmer plus I miss my yarn, thread and patterns I have there.  lol

Band Wagon

I figured I would jump on the band wagon and make a Halloween doily.

There is a limited market for Halloween doilies so I will be making a few Christmas doilies to put in my eBay store.  I will be taking them to my winter home in Arizona.  They shouldn't get crushed in my luggage but if they do my husband will re-block them.  He does all my blocking because I do not have the patience.

My roses bloomed profusely during the summer.

They are resting now but hopefully they will bloom one more time.

My fuschia plant lasted the winter covered in the pantry over the winter even though it was -30.  It is twice as big now.

Today is blueberry muffin day.  My husband loves them.  I'll make a few with streusel topping because I like them sweeter.

Bring Them Home

I am so bored with the patterns I have here at my summer home.  When I get to my winter home I'm going to pack up all my patterns and ship them back here.  I may pack up all my yarn, thread and supplies, too.  My father-in-law is 91 and not well so I want to prepare for the future.  (Not that I want him to die)  Shipping all the stuff here will save the trouble and expense of sending everything we own back here since we will have to sell the winter house when the time comes.

On another note:  I have been working slowly on a doily.  I'm using a solid color - cream - to see if that will sell faster than multi-color ones in my eBay store.  Not everyone wants frou-frou doilies.

Have a great day!

And The Beat Goes On

I'll be crocheting until they pry my cold dead hands off my crochet hook!  LOL

Beverage set. Four coasters and a centerpiece to place a pitcher of lemonade, sweet tea, etc.

Independence Day Hooking

I warned you I was on a doily roll!

This is the latest:

After I finish the latest one I'm working on I'm going to make a table set of coasters with a matching centerpiece to place a pitcher of lemonade or tea, etc. on.

On A Roll

Now that I can sit up well now I am on a roll making doilies.  I have just finished this one and another is in the works.  Next, I think I'll finish the three afghans I have started and give my hands a break from thread and tiny hooks.

Operation

I have been so busy the last few months I haven't been on here to update.  I had a sacroiliac joint fusion a few weeks ago and am just now able to sit in a chair.

This is my latest project:
