Oh Well

The Harvest Moon doily I crocheted went for only $15.72 on eBay. I'm glad it sold but what a disappointment because that was a lot of work and the pattern was so unique! Another lady has one up for auction and I'm going to watch and see what she ends up getting. Another lady sold one for $18 as a Buy It Now on eBay.

aw, sorry to hear about that, although I would think that $15 USdlls is a pretty good price. If I were to try sell something like that, I'd probably get zilch. people tendo to think crochet is for either old ladies who have nothing to do, so therefore nothing to lose, or people who are desperate for the extra money and willing to sell at a lower price. go figure.
anyway, the doily was really nice. :)

It was so beautifully done, I am sad it didn't go for more, too.
I am also sad that people don't give crocheted items the value they deserve, especially such well made ones (and believe me, I know how much work you put into it!)
Do you think it might have brought more closer to Halloween? Just wondering.

Ana Luisa, the problem with ebay is there are some ladies who underprice their items which brings down the price of everyone elses prices. You're right - people think crocheting is for little old ladies.

Ann, I think my problem was I had the auction ending on a holiday weekend.

I want to apologize for my comment, it sounded rude and offensive, and I didn't mean it to be like that. You did a wonderful job on your doliy.
when I said that people tend to regard crochet as a "lowely" handwork, it was meant for where I live, in Mexico. sorry.
How about if your try your hand at another, different, doily? Maybe you'll get lucky. :)
I understand what you mean about other people on ebay underpricing, it's a shame. don't give up, we're rooting for you!

Ana Luisa I did not take offense at your comment. I totally agree with you. People in the USA think crocheting is lowly, too.
